The Italian-American actress says that the only reason she dated Kanye West was to get him to stop bothering his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and focus on their relationship again.
In a new video posted to TikTok, the Uncut Gems actress says that her relationship with the controversial American rapper was not serious and that she only pursued it because she wanted to help her close friend Kim Kardashian, who started SKIMS.
The 32-year-old actress and model was responding to a commenter who said they wished she wasn’t with a violent anti-Semite and misogynist.
I was just going to write about it in my book and have y’all buy it, but I’ll just tell you guys for free,
she said while revealing that she has been working on her memoir, which she is going to release soon.
Like, ‘Maybe I can distract him, like, just get him to like me,’
she added.
And I knew if anyone can do it, it’s me, because when I set my mind to something, I do it.
Julia said that she had been following Kim Kardashian and her sisters Khloé Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian for a long time.
When I had a fashion line 10 years ago, they actually bought our clothes and sold them in their [Dash] stores, so I’ve always had, like, a love for Kim. Like, the big three. Khloé, Kim, Kourtney, those are my girls.
She said that the rapper texted her a lot, but she didn’t respond at first because she didn’t want to date a celebrity again after the last time. Julia said that she is now dating the rapper.
He was texting me. I wasn’t really answering,
she recalled.
I was like, ‘I don’t really want to hook up with a celebrity again.’ Like, nothing ever comes of it. … They’re kinda boring, like, they’re not what you think they’re going to be like.
But he kept going. … Then I had this thought,
the movie star explained.
I was like, ‘Oh my God, maybe I can get him off of Kim’s case. Maybe I can distract him and just get him to like me.’ And I knew if anyone can do it it’s me, because when I set my mind to something, I do it.
Fox says that the Flashing Lights singer acted pretty “normal” around her and even stopped bothering the makeup mogul while he was dating Julia.
First of all, the man was being normal around me. By the time me and him got together, it was like he hadn’t been doing anything ‘out there’ yet.
She also said that Kanye, who had legally changed his name to Ye, didn’t use Twitter or any other social media platform for the first few weeks of their relationship.
He didn’t even talk about his relationship. We only talked about clothes and weird ideas and plans for the future and our hopes and dreams for childhood and education — it was really beautiful, guys. The moment he started tweeting, I was out.
She continued,
I had already been like, ‘Dude, I’m not gonna stick around for this s–t.’
Fox told her 1.3 million TikTok followers that even though she wished she could help Ye, she came to the conclusion that he did not want her help and that nothing could help him change his behavior.
I was like, ‘I wanna help him! I wanna help him!’ I sounded almost as dumb as you guys saying that I should have done something to stop him from saying— like, what? But anyway, I was delusional and thought I could help him. Anyway, it didn’t work, and now we’re here.
West and Fox dated for a short time after his divorce from Kim Kardashian.
