Karl Shiels, the Arkham Thug no.3 from Batman Begins died on 14th July in his hometown. His agent, Lisa Richard confirmed the news of the demise of the 47-year-old Irish actor today.

Karl Shiels was born in 1972 in the city of Dublin, Ireland. Not only an actor but he was also an Artistic Director and Producer. He gained remarkable recognition for his role, Robbie Quinn in Fair City (2014).

Though Karl did not start as an actor, he previously worked as an electrician. Until in the 90s when he joined Gaiety School of Acting, Dublin. He was not from a film industry background and his parents earned the living by doing odd jobs in the city.

Karl Shiels’s achievements
This remarkable actor starred in internationally recognised projects be it, television shows or movies including “Batman Begins” and “Veronica Guerin”. Moreover “Intermission”, “The Clinic” and “Capital Letters” for which he received a nomination in IFTA awards in the Best Actor category in 2004 were some of our favourite works of his. Nevertheless, he also delivered terrific performance in the 2013 series “Peaky Blinders” as Ryan.
He went on to become a prominent character from his regular appearances in the Irish soap in 2014. Hence, appearing on his show, “Fair City” before his death. Although he will be seen in a few episodes of the show, the star has left the world with his work to look behind at.
Cause of Karl’s death
The cause of death has not yet been confirmed. But the claims are that the actor had fallen asleep multiple times in between the shooting of his show “Fair City.” However, such reports have been strongly denied by the cast of the show. Tributes are flowing in for the amazing actor admired by all.

Giving out the confirmation on his death, his agent Lisa showed great remorse on his demise. Lisa praised him for being the actor of the highest degree and a funny, sharp and witty human.
She further added his support as a mentor in Theatre Upstairs and his own company Semper Fi. Lisa also expressed her support and condolences to his partner Laura and family, his children and their mother Dearbhla.
The loss is great because not just a great actor but a great man has bid his goodbyes at such a young age of 47. We just pass our tributes to the actor and send in our support to his family in these hard times.
