Katsuhiro Harada has finally responded to the fan campaigns of adding Final Fantasy VIII’s Tifa Lockhart as a DLC character. While it sounds intriguing for both the franchises, it is about time what the Boss wants, whether to give in to the demands or not!
Is Tifa Lockhart indeed joining the Tekken 8 roster? Here is what we know so far!
Katsuhiro Harada Responds To The Fan Demands, Hinting At A Possible Addition Of Final Fantasy VIII’s Tifa Lockhart In Tekken 8
Several fans have urged that Tifa Lockhart be included as a DLC character in Tekken 8. Fans have gone as far as creating TIFA-themed Tekken gameplay prototypes. Katsuhiro Harada, director of the Tekken series, addressed the demands of the fans with a post on Twitter. He did not, however, disclose whether they planned to use this perspective in the series.
So in years time, we'll be able to play as #TifaLockhart dressed as RosemiLovelock?
Rosemi Tifa LoveLockHart?
Lmao 🤣To keep in Harada's good graces this tweet is satire, a joke.
Can't wait to play as #Shantae in #Tekken8 though 😋

We all know she is attractive and I understand that. But as yet we have not decided anything about guest characters etc.
Now, do we take that as a “No?” Not necessarily, at least, the fans are not ready to accept it as a direct no! Harada acknowledged the fan campaigns and agreed to the passion of these fans, and has subtly hinted at the possibilities of inclusion of Tifa.
Tekken 7 has featured other characters from various franchises, like The Walking Dead’s Negan and Final Fantasy XV’s Noctis. So fans are prepared to be surprised with the appearance from Final Fantasy VII, which should be Tifa! The first DLC character for Tekken 8 has been confirmed as the series’ staple Eddy Gordo, however further DLC characters will most likely be unveiled in the future.
Final Thoughts:
It is uncertain whether Tifa will be on the Tekken 8 roster. It will require certain conditions like license agreements, development resources, and the improvisation of overall ideas for Tekken 8. While there is no assurance that Tifa will appear in the game, the fan effort has gained momentum.
