It’s well-known that Keanu Reeves is the kindest man in the entertainment industry.
Examples of his compassion and kindness are frequently shared online. Many fans were moved to tears by one of his nice gestures to an 80-year-old super fan that recently surfaced.
A person shared a story about how their 80-year-old grandmother had a crush on the Matrix actor because he reminded her of her late husband. The story was later reposted on Reddit.
“She had a stroke in her early 70s and was pretty much housebound for the last 10 years of her life, so watching movies was her main hobby, and became almost like friends to her because she so rarely got to see any of her own,” they explained.
The user continued by describing how their uncle got met Reeves in a LA restaurant around the same time that one of the actor’s most well-known films (The Matrix) was released.
“When he finished his meal my uncle came up to their table and said ‘I don’t usually do this, but I just wanted you to know that my 80-year-old mother loves you and has seen all of your movies. You remind her of my dad,'” the user recalled.
Reeves asked the uncle if he had a phone rather than dismissing him as some celebrities might. The John Wick actor reportedly stated these words when he confirmed that he did: “Give her a call, I want to talk to her.”
“He spoke with my grandmother for several minutes and it absolutely made her year. She was so isolated and his genuine kindness to her and interest in her showed what a truly amazing man he is,” the Redditor concluded.
Unsurprisingly, the touching tale won numerous followers, several of whom claimed it brought them to tears.
“Oh, this made me cry happy tears. Thank you for sharing,” one wrote. Another felt the same, commenting: “Oh my God, that is so sweet I actually got a little teary.”
“Just when you think we’ve reached peak Keanu, he ascends even higher,” added a third.
