The San Antonio Spurs forward Keldon Johnson might get traded to the Portland Trail Blazers this offseason. There are rumors about the Blazers floating in the market even after they finally traded off their star point guard, Damian Lillard, to the Milwaukee Bucks. They traded off a point guard and received Jrue Holiday, who is also a point guard, and when they sent Jrue to the Boston Celtics, they added Celtics’ guard Malcolm to their roster. Will this cycle ever stop?
The Kentucky Wildcats product Johnson played 63 games for the Spurs last season and averaged 22 points, 2.9 assists, and 5 rebounds per game while shooting 32.9 percent from beyond the arc. It is very unlikely for the Blazers to do this deal. Will the Spurs be able to convince them? Here is all the information you need about the trade between the San Antonio Spurs and the Portland Trail Blazers involving Keldon Johnson.
What would the Blazers offer for Keldon Johnson?
The Blazers are expected to offer Malcolm Brogdon and a 2026 first-round pick in exchange for the Spurs’ #3. The Spurs tanked, and for that, they were rewarded with a brilliant lottery pick. They landed Victor Wembanyama by exploiting the lottery system, and now they are building their core around him.
I'd start the session like this👇🏽

Why would the Blazers like to sign Keldon Johnson?
Right after the Blazers traded, everybody knew that they were going to enter the rebuilding phase, so making this signing will be a bit weird. They are going to rely on their young core for the upcoming season. Having said that, landing Keldon would be a huge boost for the Blazers. They would be happy to have a talented youngster on their roster.

Why would the Spurs trade-off Keldon Johnson?
The Spurs are probably doing this deal for the draft pick, but it can also be for the experience that Malcolm brings on the table. The Spurs already have a young prodigy, and if they manage to combine it with experience, the breakthrough would not be so far away from the Spurs.
Will the Spurs tank or build their roster around Victor? How will a Damian-less Portland perform? We’ll keep you updated.
