The San Antonio Spurs forward Keldon Johnson is likely to get traded to the New York Knicks this offseason. The Spurs recently landed generational talent Victor Wembanyama by exploiting the lottery system. That’s how the lottery system works in the NBA: the weaker you are, the more the chances of you landing a star player. The Spurs tanked enough, and now they have found the breakthrough they have been looking for all this while. Will they make some trades now?
The Kentucky Wildcats product Keldon played 63 games for the Spurs last season and averaged 22 points, 2.9 assists, and 5 rebounds per game while shooting 32.9 percent from beyond the arc. He had a great season indeed, and that is why if he is put on the market, the Knicks are likely to attempt to acquire him. Can they make it happen? Here is all the information you need about the trade between the San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks involving Keldon Johnson.
What would the Knicks offer for Keldon Johnson?
The Knicks are expected to offer Evan Fournier, Miles McBride, and a first-round pick each from the years 2024 and 2028 in exchange for the Spurs’ #3. Why are the Spurs trading off such a great player? Do they plan to tank again and let their luck do the job for them?

Why would the Spurs trade-off Keldon Johnson?
The Spurs have landed a great player and Victor manages to perform like he is expected to, the Spurs have a great future lying ahead. But, that is only possible if they manage to keep the player and for that, they are required to build a quality roster around him. They already have a player with a similar profile, and that is why they are trading Johnson. They can use the assets they receive to land a better player.

Why would the Knicks like to sign Keldon Johnson?
The Knicks have a talented squad as of now, but they still need an anchor who can lead them to glory. Can Johnson do that? We are not sure. The Knicks are linked with the likes of James Harden, Joel Embiid, and Karl Anthony Towns, but if they fail to acquire any of them, Keldon would be a great option as well.
Who will be the Knicks’ franchise player? How will the Spurs perform next season? We’ll keep you updated.
