Kelly Reilly is a British actress who first appeared on screen in The Biz in 1995. She has also been featured in several other TV shows such as Above Suspicion (2009-2012), Black Box (2014), True Detective (2015), and Britannia (2018), where she played a prominent role.
Early Life
Kelly Reilly, professionally known as Jessica Kelly Siobhàn Reilly, came into the world on 18 July 1977. Raised in Chessington, she grew up with a hospital receptionist mother and a father, Jack Reilly, who served as a police officer.
The actress attended Tolworth Girls’ School in Tolworth, where she pursued drama and earned a GCSE. Her Irish roots can be traced back to her grandparents.
Kelly Reilly’s Career
Kelly Reilly reached out to the creators of the TV series Prime Suspect, which featured Helen Mirren, in hopes of securing a job. After six months, she tried out for a part in “Prime Suspect 4: Inner Circle”, which aired on ITV on May 7, 1995.
In the subsequent year, she appeared in an episode of Carlton UK’s historical drama Bramwell as a troubled young lady. Additionally, she portrayed Tina, a rebellious character, in Pie in the Sky. After six years, she starred alongside Mirren in the movie Last Orders.
After her initial professional role, she went on to perform in multiple plays on the English stage. She collaborated with Terry Johnson on four plays: Elton John’s Glasses (1997), The London Cuckolds (1998), The Graduate (2000), and Piano/Forte (2006).
In 2000, Kelly Reilly started to feel that she was only being offered roles in comedies. So, she made a big effort to get the part of young Amy in Fred Schepisi’s movie Last Orders.
This was then followed by a role in Sarah Kane’s play Blasted, which the Royal Court revived in 2001. The Times praised her performance, dubbing her “theatrical Viagra”.
In 2002, Kelly Reilly played the part of Wendy, an English exchange student, in the French comedy L’Auberge espagnole (The Spanish Apartment), co-starring Audrey Tautou and Romain Duris.
She returned to this role in the 2005 sequel, Les Poupées russes (Russian Dolls), and again in the 2013 installment, Casse-tête chinois (Chinese Puzzle). That same year, Reilly also appeared in other films including Mrs Henderson Presents and Pride & Prejudice.

In 2007, Kelly Reilly and actor Jonah Lotan were engaged, but their engagement ended in 2009. In 2010, Kelly crossed paths with Kyle Baugher, a financier, while in Marfa, Texas, US. They tied the knot in Somerset in 2012.
