Khris Middleton Contract
While there were rumours that several other NBA teams were looking to lure Milwaukee Bucks’ forward and shooting guard, the Bucks were quick to re-sign Middleton into NBA 2023 Free Agency. Middleton has made a crucial contribution to the Bucks since his joining. He joined the team as a role player and has transformed into an All-Star and Giannis‘ running mate.
Khris Middleton has been instrumental in bringing the Bucks to the championship run in 2021. He was averaging 24, 6, and 5 in the Finals with 45/36/89 shooting splits. He, unfortunately, sprained his ankle in the 2022 playoffs and had to miss the remainder of the season. Middleton also won an NBA Championship with the Bucks in 2021.
For the re-signing, Middleton chose to forego his $40.4 million player option. According to ESPN, Middleton’s agents, Mike Lindeman and Jeff Schwartz, have disclosed that the NBA All-Star has signed a $102 million deal for three years with the Bucks. His previous five-year contract with the team was worth $177,500,000. Although, the new contract is said to nudge his on-court career earning to more than a whopping $200 million.

With the new deal, Middleton is tied for the 57th position in terms of being the highest-paid player in the league with regard to the total salary. His talent and crucial contribution to the team certainly played a big role in Bucks shelling out huge numbers to sign the player for three more years. Middleton also had the upper hand to negotiate a more expensive deal but it seemed like the 31-year-old All-Star wanted to stay with the Bucks.
