Kid Rock is going viral on the internet because he shot cases of Bud Light as a sign of protest against the beer company Anheuser-Busch after they teamed up with the transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
Grandpa’s feeling a little frisky today,
the 52-year-old “American Bad Ass” singer said in a video posted late Monday. He did this while stroking his chin and laughing.
Let me say something to all of you and be as clear and concise as possible,
Kid Rock said this as he picked up a semi-automatic rifle and shot up a table full of cases of American beer.
F**k Bud Light, and f**k Anheuser-Busch,
the rocker laughed and flipped the bird at the camera before telling people to “have a terrific day” at the end of his 35-second clip.
Even though Kid Rock didn’t mention Mulvaney by name, viewers knew it was a clear shot at the beer company’s decision to include the controversial trans activist and TikToker in a campaign celebrating Mulvaney’s self-proclaimed “365 days of womanhood.”
Even though Kid Rock has less than 1 million followers, his tweet quickly went viral and has now been watched about 33 million times on Twitter at the time of this writing.
He also posted the video to Instagram, where Kelly Slater, a famous surfer, said:
Hahahaha. No words necessary.
Followers poured into his comments to show their support. One fan wrote:
Best video on Twitter right now.
Thank you for joining the boycott, Kid!
Nick Adams, a writer, posted a video outside of Anheuser-plant Busch’s in Texas about how the company had “Judas-level betrayal of the alpha-male community.”
I don’t care how cold the Bud is, I don’t care how hot the Hooters server who is serving it is — a Bud beer … will never again pass my lips,
Adams declared, saying that “the boycott has begun.”
Others, on the other hand, made fun of Kid Rock because they thought he was overreacting. Many pointed out that he had to buy the cases in order to shoot them.
You are supposed to drink beer not shoot it,
actor Damon Gonzalez told Rock.
Relax dude. Why so angry? Why are y’all triggered by trans folks? Do you know trans people drink beer too? Are you aware irresponsible actions like this glorify gun violence? Find love in your heart for all.
Anheuser-Busch stood by its celebration of Mulvaney, which included personalized cans with her face and a message congratulating her on a year of “womanhood,” despite the backlash.
Anheuser-Busch works with hundreds of influencers across our brands as one of many ways to authentically connect with audiences across various demographics and passion points,
a spokesperson for the company told Fox News.
From time to time, we produce unique commemorative cans for fans and for brand influencers, like Dylan Mulvaney.
This commemorative can was a gift to celebrate a personal milestone and is not for sale to the general public.
