An expert thinks that King Charles would be “triggered” to take Harry and Meghan’s royal titles away if they “directly attacked” the Princess of Wales in their Netflix docuseries. This is the expert’s point of view.
After the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s new TV special and Harry’s soon-to-be-written memoir, Spare, came out, royal commentator Michael Cole said on GB News earlier this week that it was an “option” for Charles to take away the couple’s titles as Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
In the second trailer for their documentary series, which will be available on their streaming service tomorrow morning, Prince Harry criticized “the pain and suffering of women who marry into this institution.” At the same time, footage from 2007 was shown of Kate being swarmed by photographers.
Experts have guessed that the “uncomfortable” documentary series will talk about the Princess of Wales’ life before she married into the Royal Family.
Mr. Cole says that the way the palace handled the scandal with Lady Susan Hussey shows that they are not afraid to act quickly in a crisis and that they would do the same thing to protect Kate.
He explained:
We saw how swiftly Buckingham Palace moved to cut loose Lady Susan Hussey after only 60 years of service to the crown at the weekend.
We’ll have to see what’s in there, but it looks as if it’s bare-knuckle fighting, and the gloves are off.
The 83-year-old woman who was Prince William’s godmother quit last week after it was said that she didn’t believe that a black woman named Ngozi Fulani was British at a reception at Buckingham Palace.
The palace put out the statement not long after the public found out about the incident. It said that the palace had taken the complaint “very seriously” and had started looking into the matter right away.
A spokesman said that employees have been “reminded of the diversity and inclusion policies that they are always expected to follow.”
Michael said that if the documentary makes accusations against the Princess of Wales, it will be harder for the royal family to keep quiet. This is true even though the royal family may try to adopt a “never complain, never explain” attitude when Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, drop new bombshells.
The expert also said that Prince Charles might think about taking away the couple’s titles after the documentary comes out and the Duke’s upcoming memoir, Spare, comes out.
The expert continued:
He can remove the title HRH, Her Royal Highness, His Royal Highness. It was done when Diana divorced immediately… that’s big medicine, that means something a great deal.
The King does have that sanction, or maybe they will try to never explain, never respond to it. I think it would be hard for them to do that.
What will trigger that is if there are direct attacks on his [Prince William’s] wife Catherine, the Princess of Wales, I think that might trigger it.
On Good Morning Britain, Jack Royston, the chief royal correspondent for Newsweek, said that the trailer showed that the documentary series will talk about the Princess of Wales’ life before she married into the Royal Family in 2011.
He explained:
We’ve had Kate in both the trailers. In the most recent one there’s a strapline underneath which is a headline from a magazine cover.
That particular magazine included an allegation that the Queen was embarrassed of her and photographs of her drunk in public were on the front cover.
So if they’re going to go into the early days of Kate and William’s relationship that could be very uncomfortable.
Mr. Royston also said that Netflix would bring back a story from 2018 in which it was said that Meghan made Kate cry when she said Princess Charlotte was like her best friend’s daughter during a bridesmaid fitting.
He added:
In the Oprah interview that was described as a major turning point where everything changed, then in this latest Netflix trailer you have Harry saying, ”this was the turning point” – they don’t say what he’s talking about but you kind of already know.
On December 15, when the second set of episodes of the TV special are released on Netflix, the Royal Family will gather around the Princess of Wales at Westminster Abbey for her Carol Service. They will be hoping to draw attention away from the ongoing discussion about the documentary.
Kate, who is 40 years old, recently said that she will be singing “O’ Come, All Ye Faithful” at the Christmas service. She did this by giving viewers of Good Morning Britain three Christmas songs and asking them to vote for their favorite. The show is going to be shown on ITV1 in the UK on Christmas Eve.
The purpose of the service is to honor people and communities all over the United Kingdom who have done acts of kindness for others and to show how important it is to help others when they are going through hard times.
This event, which is being led by the Princess of Wales band and is being supported by The Royal Foundation, will highlight the “joy” of coming together in friendships and community events that are there to help people when they are going through hard times or have lost someone close to them.
What are your thoughts on this? Do you think King Charles would actually strip the Sussexes off their titles if they target Kate Middleton in their upcoming documentary on Netflix?
