Coronation Guest List Finally Settled
The much-awaited coronation of King Charles III is just weeks away, and the guest list has finally been settled after months of uncertainty. The new monarch will have both of his sons in attendance, with Prince Harry accepting his invitation to be on hand to support his father. However, due to a compromise between the warring factions of the royal family, Meghan Markle will not be present on the biggest day of her father-in-law’s life.
Relief Over Meghan’s Absence
Several members of the royal family are reportedly relieved that Meghan Markle will not be attending the coronation, according to journalist and royal expert Nick Bullen.
He told Fox News that “there is a quiet relief that Meghan isn’t coming because it avoids so many situations.” Bullen believes that “Markle’s absence will avoid all cameras being trained on her during the event and will prevent people from waiting to see her reactions.”
Avoiding the “Meghan Show”
Bullen suggests that even if Meghan did not want the event to be about her, cameras would still be trained on her to see how she reacts. The absence of Meghan will prevent the event from becoming “The Meghan Show,” as it has happened in the past.
Bullen says “that Meghan’s absence makes it easier for everybody involved, including the royals.”
According to Bullen,
several sources have assured him that “everyone is really pleased that Harry’s coming to the coronation.”
However, Bullen adds that Harry had no choice but to attend the event.
He says, “This is his father’s biggest moment. It’s what his father waited his whole life for. It would have been just rude not to turn up, let alone lacking in dignity and style.”
In a sense, both Harry and Meghan are fulfilling their obligations by attending and staying home, respectively. However, this will unlikely improve their standing with the royals or the British public.
