Not heard about a big casting coup in the longest time? Well, the upcoming season two of the Netflix series Criminal will give you all fun you need with it updated casting of this season of the show.
David Tennant and Hayley Atwell will be followed this season by Kit Harington as he plays the suspect in the show who will be interrogated by the lead coopers in the series.
Although, what his role in the series is kept behind the curtains but certainly his new performance in the series will give a departure to his Game of Thrones character Jon Snow. No, we aren’t just talking about his new haircut look, read further to get more insights.
Last year, Kit Harington was last seen in the season finale of the popular and loved TV show Game of Thrones. His appearance in the second episode of the Criminal four-part series marks his first appearance post Game of Thrones.
His performance as Jon Snow in the television show earned this popular London -born actor a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor – Television Series Drama and two Primetime Emmy Award nominations – for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2016 and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2019.
We can also tell you the names of three additional characters exclusively who’ll be making an appearance with Kit Harington on Netflix show Criminal.
Oscar-nominated actress Sophie Okonedo (Hotel Rwanda, The Hollow Crown) will feature in the first episode. While there will be a dramatic scene involving actress, writer, and comedian Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe).
Kunal Nayyar, the Big Bang Theory actor will be seen in the hot seat in the season finale where fans can expect to see him in a completely new and different role.

Criminal was created by George Kay and Jim Field Smith and was launched in September 2019 stared Katherine Kelly, Shubham Saraf, Lee Ingleby, and Rochenda Sandall as series regulars.
Each episode involved a twist as a police officer interrogated different suspects. Some were found guilty and some innocent, but the entire process is quite beautifully written and directed.
On the 19th August, the second season of the show was confirmed promising “four new cases, four new suspects and one room that changes everything.”
“Prepare for bold stories, some surprises, and a completely innovative take on the police procedural,” the teaser read.

For those of you who do not know that Criminal was launched alongside its international counterparts Criminal: France, Criminal: Spain, and Criminal: Germany which had police officers featuring their individual teams. However, recently on twitter, the co-creator of the show confirmed that there is no such plan to bring back the different versions of the show. But he also added that the team behind the world of Criminal would “love to do more of the others”.
Criminal is set to return to Netflix on 16th September 2020
