Kyle Lowry commented on King James after the Toronto Raptors defeated the Miami Heat in Game 7 of the 2016 NBA season and it didn’t go well with the LeBron fans.
Kyle Lowry was a point guard for Toronto Raptors back then and LeBron was playing for Miami Heat. After the match when Toronto defeated Heats, Kyle in a conversation with ESPN, said James is one of the best players in the league besides Steph. Everything was perfect but the last part included Steph was a kind of disrespect to Lebron if we look at it.
Kyle Lowry on LeBron James: "One of the best players in the league besides Steph."

LeBron vs Steph
By that time, LeBron established his name in the list of the finest NBA players. He had already won 4 MVPs, and 4 Finals MVPs and had 3 titles to his name. On the other hand, if we look at Curry’s achievements by that time, he had 2 MVPs and just 1 title to his name. Steph was an upcoming star at that time while James already achieved a lot. So comparing an upcoming star with James seemed offensive to many fans.
LBJ didn’t take any offense on such comments made on him. But James did comment when Steph won the MVP, and Steph also replied to that.
LBJ said:
Should the best player be the most valuable player? LeBron James on Steph Curry being MVP
"I've gotten really good at ignoring people."

Kyle Lowry’s apology
Kyle Lowry tried to explain his side and it was a kind of him apologizing for the comments that he made on James. In a press conference, he said:
I would never throw (any) shade on one of the greatest players in history of basketball. I would never do that. Some people will take it for too much. LeBron is LeBron James. He’ll probably be (one of the) top three players of all time when he retires.
Steph Curry has proved his skills but it was unfair to compare him with LeBron James. King James is already one of the finest NBA players right now and there is no competition.
