Sorry, Ariana but it looks like Mark Hoyle is going to be on the top of the Christmas chart this year. Known by his username LadBaby, Hoyle’s track “We Built This City” sold 75,442 copies. The funds generated will go into the food bank charity “The Trussell Trust.”
The song is a parody to 1985 Starship’s classic song.
With this record sales, Hoyle has beaten Ava Max and Ariana Grande to secure the number 1 position on the Christmas chart. The last time when LadBaby clinched the number one spot was in 2000, when he released the famous Bob The Builder’s title track “Can We Fix It?”
Mark Hoyle was in all tears and he thanked each and everyone in the US who helped him roll up to the top. He said that he couldn’t thank enough to all those people who downloaded the song and raised money for such an incredible charity.
The song was ahead of Sweet But Psycho by Ava Max by 18,500 copies.
