The Charlotte Hornets’ guard LaMelo Ball is expected to get traded to the New York Knicks this offseason. The Hornets have not managed to keep their star LaMelo happy and we might see him forcing a move very soon. The Hornets would not like to lose the youngster and would probably do everything in their limits to convince him to stay.
The 22 year old played 36 games for the Hornets last season and averaged 23.3 points, 8.4 assists, and 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting 37.6 percent from beyond the arc. The Knicks have shown interest in landing the wonder kid. Can they pull it off? Here is all the information you need about the trade between the Charlotte Hornets and the New York Knicks involving LaMelo Ball.
What would the Knicks offer for LaMelo Ball?
The Knicks are expected to offer RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley and one first-round pick from the years 2026,2028 and 2029 in exchange for the Hornets’ #1. The Hornets extended LaMelo so as to keep him but if things stay the way they are, a trade is on the cards. The Hornets would expect heavy returns; will this offer satisfy them?
Baron Davis on LaMelo Ball:
“He’s damn near 6’9 now, I stood next to him…He has no celling, we don’t know what his ceiling is. He has an intangible that only the greats are given.”

Why would the Hornets trade-off LaMelo Ball?
The Hornets do not want to let the 22-year-old go, they are doing everything in their power to keep him including not signing Scoot Henderson so as to land somebody who can link with Ball better. But if they are pushed to the wall to make this trade, two players and three draft picks might prove to be enough.

Why would the Knicks like to sign LaMelo Ball?
The Knicks already have Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle on their roster. Adding LaMelo to the mix would improve their roster by a huge margin. Although they are losing two players here, they would be satisfied to sign a franchise player. Can the Knicks make this deal happen?
Will the Hornets be able to keep LaMelo to themselves? If the Knicks manage to sign the youngster, will they be able to contend? We’ll keep you updated.
