Welcome to Lapis Lakeside
“Pokémon Sleep” is gearing up for its biggest update since launch, set to go live on January 24 at 3 PM local time. The highlight of this update is the addition of a brand-new sleep area called Lapis Lakeside, expanding the research areas to a total of five. To access Lapis Lakeside, players must have registered 240 Sleep Styles. This area introduces nine new Pokémon species for players to discover, including the likes of Dratini, Stufful, and Ralts.
Cooking with Greengrass Corn
The update also introduces a fresh ingredient, Greengrass Corn, alongside seven new recipes. These recipes are expected to feature Greengrass Corn and cater to the dietary preferences of the newly added Pokémon. A delightful addition to the game is that now your Pokémon will join you in eating cooked dishes, which helps in replenishing a small amount of their energy. The lower your Pokémon’s energy, the more they will benefit from these meals.
Quality-of-Life Improvements and Bug Fixes
Players can look forward to several quality-of-life improvements. For example, Pokémon will now pick up ingredients even when your bag is full. However, note that the Facebook linking feature will soon become unusable. The Energy Pillows will have a cap at 100%, and your Snorlax may gain less strength from sleeping than before due to the game’s bug fixes. These fixes include resolving issues like Pokémon not using energy while players sleep and having less energy in the morning than the night before.
A Heartfelt Goodbye
While this update brings excitement, it’s also bittersweet as “Pokémon Sleep” will be shutting down on April 29. In the lead-up to this closure, players can expect a burst of content and events to ensure a memorable farewell. This shutdown aligns with the transient nature of mobile games and reflects Square Enix’s strategy in the ever-evolving mobile gaming landscape.
As we approach the closure of “Pokémon Sleep,” this update offers a rich experience for players to enjoy the final moments in the game. With new areas to explore, more Pokémon to discover, and delicious dishes to cook, it ensures that the game’s end will be as engaging as its beginning. Don’t forget to check out the official Pokémon Sleep page for more detailed information on the upcoming changes and bug fixes.
