Facebook owned messenger WhatsApp has a new update and it is going to infidelity and cheating way easier. After the update, the messenger will support bio-metric authentication giving the users to lock the app using Touch ID or Face ID.
Even though this feature is not on per chat basis, it adds an extra layer of security for all your private conversations on WhatsApp. You can use the feature by updating to the app’s latest version, 2.19.20.
You can easily get the update on the Apple App Store. After getting the updated version, all you have to do is head to Settings and then go to the Account option. Click on the Privacy option then and simply switch “Screen Lock” on.
The app users will get WhatsApp notifications even after that only if they choose to display the message previews. They can quickly reply within iOS, but they won’t be able to access the entire app till the standard iOS authentication process succeeds.
There is no detail about any other feature in the update log yet. Previously, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg discussed the possibility of merging Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp for creating a safer experience. He even compared this option to that of merging the services to iMessage.
What do you think about this new feature? Will it create a safer experience or will it create new troubles. Only time will tell us about out. But you can share your views with us right now in the comments below!
