James included: I’m so grateful in our association of our chief […] He doesn’t worry about us having … a genuine inclination and to have the capacity to express that. It doesn’t make a difference if Adam [Silver] concurs with what we are stating, he at any rate needs to listen to us. For whatever length of time that we are doing it in an extremely instructive, peaceful way, at that point he’s completely alright with it.”
The Lakers player has been disparaging of the NFL and steady of Colin Kaepernick previously. In 2017, James talked with ESPN, saying: “I don’t speak to the NFL. I don’t have a clue about their principles and controls. However, I do know Kap is misunderstanding a doing. I do realize that. Simply watching, he’s a NFL player. He’s a NFL player and you see all these different quarterbacks out there and players out there that get all these second and third possibilities that are not even close as gifted as him. It just feels like he’s been renounced out of the NFL. So I certainly don’t regard that.”
