The 14th career game for LeBron James didn’t go as expected. Everything was going just perfect till the third quarter as James was blazing the LA Lakers to victory. But he suddenly had a strained groin and had to sit in the camp for the rest of the match.
Replacing him was Stephen Curry who guided the Lakers to a 127-101 victory over the Golden State Warriors. His 11-0 run brought the Lakers back in the game as the Warriors looked helpless after that. And then it was Rajon Rondo who kept the momentum going in the fourth quarter. He scored a three-pointer which pushed the Lakers lead to 15 points.
In the third quarter, Ivica Zubac was the key performer for the Lakers. He not only kept a check on the defense but boosted up the team’s offense. He emerged as a surprise option whenever the Lakers kept the ball low. Since 2012, Lakers had lost 11 consecutive matches at the Oracle Arena. They had a seven-in-a-row loss record against the Warriors before this match.
