Childhood
Lester Green, also known as Beetlejuice, was born on June 2, 1968, in Brown Mills, New Jersey. He grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey as the second-youngest of six siblings. Due to being born with dwarfism and microcephaly, Lester faced unique challenges from a young age.
Microcephaly is a congenital condition characterized by a notably smaller head circumference compared to what is typical for the baby’s age and gender. This reduced head size typically indicates inadequate brain development.
There are several reasons why microcephaly may occur, such as genetic disorders, infections contracted during pregnancy (such as Zika virus), exposure to alcohol or drugs while in the womb, and abnormalities in the chromosomes.
The impact of these factors can range in severity, depending on the specific cause and the extent of impairment in brain development.
Due to his striking similarities with a character from the 1988 film Beetlejuice, Lester Green was nicknamed Beetlejuice. As a child, he was often taunted by other children who referenced a scene from the movie where a character possessed a shrunken head.
Career
During the 1990s, a promoter/manager named Sean Rooney recruited Beetlejuice to participate in his dwarf-tossing enterprise.
On July 14, 1999, Rooney arranged for Beetlejuice and another performer to be featured on the Howard Stern Show. Howard quickly recognized Beetlejuice as a unique guest, leading to his frequent appearances on the show.
During the 17th AVN Awards show in Las Vegas in January 2000, Howard was scheduled to be presented with an honorary award.
However, instead of attending himself, Stern arranged for Beetlejuice to accept the award on his behalf. Beetle’s acceptance speech, which was known for its incoherent rambling, resulted in him being removed from the stage.
From 2000 to 2016, Beetlejuice made frequent appearances on Stern’s show. However, he was absent for a period of five years from 2016 until February 2021.
Lester Green’s career in entertainment began at a young age. His uncle, who was a performer in a traveling circus, attempted to introduce him to the famous Ringling Brothers circus.
Eventually, Green crossed paths with Sean Rooney at a bar and the two formed a strong connection. With Rooney’s help, Green was able to establish himself as an entertainer and even began taking part in comedic wrestling as part of his career.
Lester Green has engaged in multiple amateur boxing competitions and was featured in a five-part reality TV series titled “This Is Beetle” on Howard TV.
Despite being slated to make a brief appearance in the 2009 film “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” Beetlejuice ultimately lost the role due to his struggles, causing frustration for director Michael Bay.
Personal Life
Lester Green is currently unmarried having gone through a divorce. He was previously wed to a woman from Puerto Rico, who he affectionately called Babyjuice.
Their relationship began in early 2003 and they got married in May of the same year. She was even featured on The Howard Stern Show. However, the marriage did not last and they separated just four months later.
Net Worth
Lester Green is a popular American comedian and actor, who has a net worth of $200 thousand. He is most recognized as Beetlejuice for his regular appearances on The Howard Stern Show and is a part of Stern’s “Wack Pack.”
In July 1999, he made his first appearance on the show alongside a fellow dwarf who was promoting a dwarf tossing venture.
