Lil Nas X is a master at attracting attention, as evidenced by his eye-catching red carpet looks and his devilish music video for “Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” which prompted outrage from conservative media. Lil Nas X is a master of attracting attention. Therefore, it should not come as much of a surprise that a religious group showed up to protest the controversial artist outside of his concert in Boston, Massachusetts, on Sunday night.
Lil Nas, who is highly skilled at disarming those who criticize or spew hatred toward him, made the decision to capitalize on the moment by performing a kind gesture. The author of the tweet wrote the following after reposting a video of the demonstrators: “Just told my team to send them pizza, this is really good promo!”
After waiting a few hours, the rapper uploaded a new video in which his crew offered to deliver free pizza to the group in question, but they declined the offer. The song “Mystery of Love” by Sufjan Stevens plays in the background as the camera slows down and focuses on one of the protesters who is wearing a shirt that says “Christ’s Forgiveness Ministries Revival.” This occurs approximately halfway through the edited clip.
The following is what Lil Nas captioned the video: “Update: they didn’t want the pizza but I accidentally fell in love with one of the homophobic protestors.”
The “Industry Baby” rapper is currently in the midst of his “Long Live Montero tour,” which is his very first run of headlining performances. Radio City Music Hall in New York City will be the first stop on his tour after that, followed by performances in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Nashville, Orlando, Miami, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and San Francisco. His tour will begin on Tuesday. Lil Nas will begin his trip overseas on November 8 with the intention of concluding the tour’s final leg in Europe, which will take place in Barcelona, Spain, on November 17.
