Lizzo has had it with body-shaming comments. The singer has dropped a nuke on social media users who are constantly leaving insulting remarks on her posts. The Grammy-award-winning musician wore a beautiful two-piece bathing suit on the beach and talked to her fans. She right away mentioned the “discourse around bodies” all the while adoring her body and proving her point. The 34-year-old singer has always been an advocate for the same.
Lizzo begins, “The discourse around bodies is officially tired.” She says, “I have seen comments go from: ‘Oh my gosh, I liked you when you were thick. Why did you lose weight?’; to ‘Oh my gosh, why did you get a BBL [Brazilian butt lift]? I liked your body before’; to ‘Oh my gosh, you’re so big. You need to lose weight, but for your health’; to ‘Oh my gosh, you’re so little. You need to get a** or ti**ies or something;’ to ‘Oh my gosh, why did she get all that work done? It’s just too much work.”

Lizzo continues, “Are we OK?! Do you see the delusion? Do we realize that artists are not here to fit into your beauty standards? Artists are here to make art. And this body is art. And I’m going to do whatever I want with this body. I wish that comments [cost] y’all money. So we can see how much time we are f****** wasting on the wrong thing. Can we leave that s*** back there, please?”
Lizzo has always been an advocate for body shaming issues. She once found herself in a tiff with Kanye West, which is not so uncommon for the latter. Kanye West once said, “When Lizzo loses 10 pounds and announces it, the bots — that’s a term for like telemarketer callers on Instagram — they attack her for losing weight, because the media wants to put out a perception that being overweight is the new goal when it’s actually unhealthy.” He goes, “Let’s get aside the fact of whether it’s fashion and vogue, which is not. Or if someone thinks is attractive, to each his own. It’s actually clinically unhealthy, and for people to, to promote that… it’s demonic.”
Lizzo was quick to clap back. She said, “I feel like everybody in America got my motherf****** name in their motherf******* mouth for no motherf******* reason. I’m minding my fat Black beautiful business.” Host Loni Love also supported Lizzo. She said, “Body positivity is living your life on your terms. Some in society want to say you can’t live because you don’t look like what they think you should look like..times have changed..love and good vibes always to @lizzo”
