Others, though, can divide people’s opinions and become popular for the wrong reasons.
Now, a man’s life hack has sparked a debate because he told everyone about it.
A social media influencer named @alisonkoroly posted a video of a man taking off a toilet seat to clean it. @alisonkoroly often posts tips to make her viewers’ lives easier.
Most of the time, you would wipe it down with an anti-bacterial spray and wipes.
But he does something strange by putting the toilet seat in the dishwasher.
This is the same dishwasher that cleans the plates you eat off of, and there are plates in it in the video.
The 12-second video has been watched 4.5 million times, and some people who are against the idea are very angry about it.
One person comments:
No one is coming to your house for Thanksgiving ever again.
Someone else adds:
I’d never put that there, where my plates and forks etc. go into. [I don’t care] how clean it gets.
I’m never buying a second-hand dishwasher,
jokes a third.
Another user writes:
I don’t care how hot it gets or how much soap is used, that dishwasher is forever tainted.
There’s a good reason you never knew that,
slams a fifth.
Someone else comments:
That’s just great, give a whole new meaning to the expression ‘don’t s*** where you eat’.
Some of the comments, though, say that the hack is “creative.”
Even experts have had something to say about whether or not it’s OK to wash your toilet seat in the dishwasher.
The Family Handyman spoke with Dr. Brian Mangum, an associate professor of medicine and epidemiologist at the University of Health Sciences Antigua.
Consider the fact that your toilet seat is already full of germs.
You have now potentially transferred those germs to the same dishwasher where you will wash your children’s plates after pizza night.
Even though people were upset, it’s good to know that the TikTok was meant to be a joke, which the couple confirmed.
