Manchester United transfer delayed
The reason is familial- Daniel James’s father suddenly passed away at 60 years old. Daniel James was due to complete his formalities and was to be announced as a Manchester United player by the end of the week. Understandably, the youngster is now completely focused on his family. The plans for the transfer have been shelved, to allow the youngster to bereave in peace.
It is believed that it came as a real shock to James to hear the news about his father. The death was sudden, and there was no prior indication of it coming. James had earlier spoken about being immensely proud of his family, and the support they had given him in these early phases of his football career.
Manchester United have told Daniel James that he is free to take as much time as he needs to sort himself out.
Daniel James was signed by Swansea back in 2014 when he was just 16 from Hull for £72,000. Since the move, James has shown steady improvement over the years, finally having a breakout season this year. The Welsh youngster scored an impressive 5 goals from the wings and even provided 10 assists.
In fact, James could have been wearing entirely different colors if things have transpired differently in January. James was supposed to join Leeds United on deadline day, and only a last-minute intervention lead to a dramatic cancellation of the deal.
Fast forward six months, the youngster will be lining up for Manchester United. We offer condolences to Daniel James and his family and hope that he completes his dream move to United as soon as possible.
