Apple is all set to host a major event on the 25th of March. There’s quite a buzz of excitement about this Apple Event as it is expected to be different from what we have seen in the past. Usually, an event like this would mean Apple is launching a new tablet or a laptop. However, this time around, Apple is focusing on something totally different.
The tech giant is now tapping the video streaming markets. Reports from various publications such as Cnet and Yahoo Finance indicate that Apple’s new event will focus on their video streaming service. Other announcements are also expected. Let us take a closer look:
Apple Event To Launch Apple’s Video Streaming Service
What sets this event apart from most other events held by Apple is that the focus here will be on services rather than hardware products. The company, however, is focusing on creating a Netflix-like streaming service. More details about it would be unveiled at the event on the 25th of March.
Apple Creating a ‘Netflix Killer’?
Apple’s video streaming service has been rumoured for quite some time. Over time, a number of major names were on-board with the company to start off things. Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Aniston, Steven Spielberg, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Garner and J.J. Abrams are some of these names.
Apart from Apple-originals, the company is also looking forward to get the likes of HBO, Showtime and Starz to stream their content on the Apple platform. Another detail that we know about this streaming service is that sports may not be on the platform at the moment. However, the complete details will only be known at the Apple Event on March 25th.
The company is going to face major competition from established players such as Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. However, given Apple’s brand recognition and the people that they have on-board, the company is likely to eat into a sizeable portion of the video streaming markets once it starts off.
Apple’s Magazine Service
While one of the key highlights of this Apple event would be the streaming service that the company is going to launch – another major aspect here would be an Apple Magazine! This is basically a news subscription service from Apple.
Apple’s news app will offer a premium news subscription service which would allow users to view paywalled content from platforms such as The New York Times, Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal among others.
Apple Credit Card
Last but not the least, at this Apple Event on the 25th of March, Apple might launch an Apple-branded Credit Card as well. This Apple Credit Card would be in partnership with Goldman Sachs.
More details about the card are still awaited. However, the Apple Event is going to answer a lot of question about this. Stay tuned with us for more updates from the event. Exciting times are ahead for Apple fans.
