But like many other actresses, Margot too had to face the pressure of adhering to particular body standards. There’s no secret that Hollywood pushes for extreme body standards for actresses. But there are many like Margot who refuse to adhere to these. She was once told to lose pounds to look hotter for this big-budget movie.
Margot Robbie’s Amusing Response
Margot Robbie didn’t agree to lose weight for playing Jane in ‘The Legend of Tarzan.’ Robbie played the role of Jane Clayton in The Legend of Tarzan. She was cast opposite Alexander Skarsgård. Robbie revealed that the makers wanted her to shed some weight before putting up the role.
Robbie’s response to this demand of the producers was quite amusing.

Robbie had landed in London for the first time and wanted to enjoy the delicacies of London. The idea of dieting or exercising seemed outrageous to her.
Well, jokes aside. Robbie had a better reason for not losing weight for The Legend of Tarzan.
It’s the 19th century [in the film] — if she’s got a bit of weight on her, it’s probably a good thing.
Robbie felt that there was no need to look thin just for the sake of it. Fans lauded her stand mentioning how actresses need to voice out the extreme body standards that Hollywood pushes.
So glad that Robbie didn’t agree to lose weight. Hollywood needs to stop defining the ideal weights for the female characters.
Margot Robbie’s co-star Alexander Skarsgård wasn’t as lucky
Well, Robbie escaped away by refusing to diet. Her co-star Alexander Skarsgård had to go through a strict dieting regime. Robbie mentioned in an old interview how Skarsgård had to strive hard to get into the right shape for the movie.
He was on a rigorous diet and exercise regime. I will never forget the day that he was finally allowed to have an apple, and he leaned over and kissed the apple
Margot Robbie is busy filming the “Barbie” movie in New York. She has been paired with Ryan Gosling, known for his roles in The Notebook, La La Land, Drive etc. The movie will be out in July 2023 and trailers and teasers released in March 2023 have managed to grab a lot of attention. It might be another breakout movie for Margot as her character is receiving appreciation.
