Margot Robbie left her acting career in Australia to pursue her dream of becoming a Hollywood star.
After appearing in several low-budget films, the actress was cast in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
It was a breakthrough for Margot, who was able to impress one of the greatest directors of our time. During the audition, Margot had to play a fight scene with Leo, and she slapped him pretty hard.
The actress even worried about her career and that she would be sued because of the incident, but DiCaprio and Scorsese made it into a joke, and Leo even urged her to do it again.
The actress also confessed that she was injured while filming an intimate scene for The Wolf of Wall Street.
In this scene, Margot and Leo’s characters get amorous on a large mound of money.
“I got a million paper cuts on my back from all that money! […] Maybe real money is a bit softer, but the fake money is like paper, and when I got up off the bed, I turned around to get my robe and everyone gasped. […] They said, “You look like you’ve been whipped a million times. Your back is covered in a thousand red scratches,” Margot Robbie shared in her interview with The Daily Beast.
Margot Robbie
Margot takes a responsible approach to film, which occasionally ends in her being harmed even more gravely than in The Wolf of Wall Street.
The film critics received me well, Tonya. The actress received an Oscar nomination for her performance as a figure skater in the 1990s.
Figure skating is a difficult task, especially when portraying elite tournaments. Margot Robbie was hurt on site and forced to continue filming while suffering from a bulging disc in her neck.
She was also the film’s producer, so she had no time to heal. The actress underwent CT scans once a week to ensure everything was in order and she could continue filming.
With two Oscar nominations, Margot Robbie has established herself as one of Hollywood’s most accomplished actresses.
Fans of the actress are excited about Greta Gerwig’s new film Barbie, starring Margot Robbie, which opens in theatres on July 21.
