In Spenser Confidential, Mark Wahlberg plays a Boston police officer who is in jail because he beat up one of his bosses. Shortly after he gets out of jail, the officer he attacked is found dead. Spenser teams up with an MMA fighter-in-training named Winston Duke to find the people who did this. Alan Arkin, Iliza Shlesinger, Marc Maron, Post Malone, and Bokeem Woodbine are also in the movie.

A report from Variety says that Wahlberg was paid $30 million for the Netflix movie.

He also made eight figures for the 2021 movie Infinite, which you can watch on Paramount+. He has produced a number of movies and has stakes in F45 Training, a fitness company, and Walhburgers, a chain of burger restaurants owned by his family. He was also in Joe Bell, a movie based on a man who decides to walk across America to raise awareness about bullying after his gay son commits suicide because of it.

A “Spenser Confidential” sequel is in the works.

Even though both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes gave Spenser Confidential lukewarm ratings, Variety says that it was still one of the most streamed movies of 2020. So, it’s not a big surprise that there will be a sequel.

Berg told Collider in September 2020 that there would be a second Spenser Confidential movie.

Brian Helgeland, who wrote the first script, just turned in a first draft last week,

the Friday Night Lights director said.

So we’re definitely going to do Spenser Confidential 2, we’re just trying to figure out the dates.

Berg and Wahlberg worked together for the fifth time on Spenser Confidential. They had also worked together on Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon, Patriots Day, and Mile 22. Berg said that he was looking forward to working with the actor for many years to come.

I’m sure Mark and I will be 85, 90 years old making movies together,

he said.

We love working together.
