Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg has issued a warning for Messenger users from taking screenshots of their chats. With the introduction of the Disappearing Message feature in the app, the Facebook owner stated to inform users that taking screenshots when the feature is enabled will notify the other user.
Mark Zuckerberg Warns Meta Users Against Taking Screenshots
The 39-year-old tech billionaire has often been found tangled in legal battles over his company’s privacy policy in the past. Facebook has been accused of leaking the data of millions of users to giant companies and for showing targeted ads. To compete with Snapchat’s disappearing message feature which happens to attract many users, Meta CEO launched a similar feature to Facebook’s Messenger earlier this year.
After Facebook Messenger got an update where users could set their messages to disappear after a certain period of time, Zuckerberg shared a warning for the users. He shared a post on his profile stating that the update allows the users to be notified whenever someone takes a screenshot of the disappearing message texts. He wrote-
“New update for end-to-end encrypted Messenger chats so you get a notification if someone screenshots a disappearing message.”
He added that the update allows users to add reactions and stickers.
“We’re also adding GIFs, stickers, and reactions to encrypted chats too.”
He even shared his and his wife, Priscilla Chan‘s personal message to exhibit how the feature will work. The two can be seen sharing humorous texts in their chat.
Priscilla was congratulating Mark Zuckerberg on the announcement of the AI supercomputer. Zuckerberg shared the announcement via his social media profile.
“Meta has developed what we believe is the world’s fastest AI supercomputer. We’re calling it RSC for AI Research SuperCluster. The experiences we’re building for the metaverse require enormous compute power (quintillions of operations / second!) and RSC will enable new AI models that can learn from trillions of examples, understand hundreds of languages, and more. Congrats to the team on building RSC!”
The feature is also available on other Meta-owned social messaging apps such as Instagram and WhatsApp. Instagram users can enable ‘Vanish Mode’ to share texts that will disappear once the users exit the chat window. WhatsApp also allows users to enable the Disappearing Message feature in their app. He is also set to launch Thread app that will reportedly compete with Musk’s Twitter app. Interestingly, the announcement of launching the Thread app landed Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk in an internet drama.
Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk
With the announcement of Mark Zuckerberg’s Thread app, Musk has challenged the Meta CEO to a cage fight. What started as an internet feud has now become quite serious. UFC President, Dana White has also been involved in their exchanges and the two are reportedly ready to face each other in a boxing ring. If the rumours are true, the boxing match will be held in Vegas Octagon and will be the biggest UFC match in history.
Dana White believes that a UFC match between Musk and Zuckerberg would break all records.
“Bigger than anything that’s ever been done. It would break all Pay Per View records. These guys would raise, you know, hundreds of millions of dollars of charity.”
“And you don’t have to be a fight fan to be interested in this fight. Everybody would want to see it.”
It is pertinent to mention that Mark Zuckerberg has been training quite hard to build his physique over the last couple of years. He has even fought in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition and won a gold and a silver medal. On the other hand, Musk is convinced that his bodyweight is enough to hold Zuckerberg down.
