Matt Damon mocked his “rival” Jimmy Kimmel while strolling the red carpet for his new film Air. The “feud” is most likely an act, but it’s still a lot of fun to see the two go at it, whether it’s real or not.
While Kimmel was taking a picture with his wife on the red carpet, Damon shouted from afar, “Hey! I’d adore posing with you, but we ran out of time!” Then, during an ET interview about his project, Damon was asked if he wanted to end his long-running “feud” with Kimmel, to which he replied, “No, no, he’s an a**hole. Why would I ever do that?” Damon then added, “He’s a terrible human being. He’s a demonstrably bad man.”
When ET asked Kimmel about the incident shortly after it occurred, he said, “You know, I don’t know who that was, but yeah, I heard him. He was loud.” He was quite vocal.” Jimmy Kimmel then stated that Damon was wearing the Cocaine Bear suit at the Oscars, which Damon denies.
Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel’s “Feud”
When asked if the couple could “reconcile” on his show, Kimmel said, “I just can’t imagine it happening.” I simply cannot. I believe we have Ben [Affleck] on Monday, so that will be the closest we get.”
In fact, this “feud” is most likely the creation of two longtime friends. Their “feud” began years ago, when Kimmel began making a joke on his program about running out of time for an interview with Damon.
The “feud” was fueled further when Kimmel’s then-girlfriend, comedian Sarah Silverman, appeared on his program with a song titled “I’m F***ing Matt Damon.” The talk show host then performed a follow-up song dubbed ‘I’m F***ing Ben Affleck‘ on another episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Damon’s longtime friend and creative partner, Affleck, co-stars with Damon in Air, which he also directed.
