Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 was one of the biggest PPVs that the company has ever held. It was also one of the most controversial PPVs that the UFC has ever held. Following the match, the brawl spilled outside the Octagon and both the men were penalized and served a few months of a ban for this.

However, the two have since become bitter rivals and are refusing to see eye to eye over various matters, including a rematch. UFC President Dana White is now looking forward to act as the mediator here.
Social Media Spat between McGregor and Khabib
Conor McGregor is known to be a foulmouthed person and he took multiple shots at Khabib on social media. These included tweets that insulted his family as well. Khabib did not take well to this and called McGregor a ‘jealous wife’ after the retirement announcement. This was followed by some tweets from McGregor which were later deleted by him on account of being termed Islamophobic and racist.
He then posted this tweet in apology:
I want to move forward, with my fans of all faiths and all backgrounds.
All faiths challenge us to be our best selves.
It is one world and one for all ❤️

Will There be a McGregor vs Khabib Rematch?
Dana White has now involved himself here and is trying to broker peace between the two angry men. Being the President of the UFC, Dana White enjoys the support and confidence of both the men and is trying to get McGregor back in the ring (which he claims will happen around late 2019) and is trying to convince Khabib Nurmagomedov to face McGregor in a rematch! It will be interesting to see if it indeed happens.
