At the beginning of 2011, when he was 13 years old, Zverev participated in his first junior match in Poland during a Grade 4 tournament. The following year, he emerged victorious in the Fujairah Junior Championships in the United Arab Emirates, earning his first ITF title.
Several weeks later, Zverev achieved a Grade 5 championship at the Oman International Junior 2. In 2013, he also made it to consecutive doubles finals with Spencer Papa at the Copa Gerdau and the USTA International Spring Championships.
Zverev’s first Grade A championship victory was at the Trofeo Bonfiglio, and he also achieved a second-place finish at the French Open. Despite not making it to the singles final at the 2013 Junior US Open, he still managed to become the top-ranked junior player in the world due to his impressive performance.
Furthermore, Zverev was recognized as the ITF Junior World Champion. During his final year as a junior in 2014, he captured singles titles at both the Traralgon Junior International and the Australian Open.
Professional Career
Alexander Zverev achieved his first victory in the professional main draw at a Futures tournament in Germany in August 2012. Later that year, he reached his inaugural professional final where he placed second to Florian Reynet at an ITF event in Florida.

However, during the 2022 French Open semifinals against Rafael Nadal, Sascha sustained a serious ankle injury, tearing three ligaments and subsequently being unable to compete in the 2022 Wimbledon tournament.
