During a recent episode of The Joe Wicks Podcast, singer and coach on The Voice, Tom Jones, shared that he met his wife when they were kids. He stated that he knew Melinda Trenchard was the one for him at the age of 12. He stated,
I was in love with my wife as a kid. We grew up together and have loved one another ever since we saw one another.
In March 1957, at the Pontypridd register office, Sir Tom Jones and Melinda Trenchard tied the knot. At the time, Melinda was just 17 years old. Shortly after, the couple welcomed their first child, Mark Woodward.
Melinda had high hopes of having more kids and growing their family, but unfortunately, she suffered a miscarriage which resulted in her being unable to conceive. At the time when Tom Jones’ son was born, Jones had not yet begun his journey as a singer.
Despite his wife’s urging to pursue a career in entertainment, he chose to work a traditional job to support his family. As a result, they moved to California, USA.

During a 2017 interview, the singer revealed that he has no intention of getting married again. He constantly praises and reminisces about his late wife, Melinda, and has chosen not to share any information about his current romantic life or potential plans for remarriage.
He openly declared his everlasting love for Melinda and made it clear that he had no desire to wed again. He said,
I’m glad we had our lives together, but I wish she was here now; we would be old together.
