Melvin Gordon is finally ending his holdout and it is sure whether he will play in the Week 4 game against the Dolphins or the Week 5 game against the Broncos. The running back was bound to return to his team at some point as the Chargers lost the last two games without him in the NFL 2019 season. The return on Gordon simply means that the other running backs in the Chargers team will be sidelined in the team.
Sources: The holdout is ending. #Chargers RB Melvin Gordon is, in fact, reporting to the team tomorrow. He won’t play this week, but he is planning to be back in the fold with his teammates.

Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson proved to be an efficient duo in the season opener but kind of the disappointed the fantasy football owners in the rest of the games. With Gordon back in the Chargers, the fantasy football rankings of Ekeler and Jackson will have a huge impact on them.
Austin Ekeler Fantasy Rankings
Austin Ekeler was doing good for the 2019 NFL season with four touchdowns, 19 receptions on 20 targets. The replacement Gordon RB also rushed for 208 receiving yards with a solid 4.2 yards per carry. There are high chances that Ekeler will blow up in the fantasy rankings and those who drafted him lower were ready to increase his rankings.

Gordon playing as the lead running back in Chargers will not slow Ekeler as he is well suited to his job. For those fantasy football owners, who are thinking to remove him in Week 4, just hold tight and have some more patience.
Justin Jackson Fantasy Rankings
Justin Jackson has only totaled 18 carries in the 2019 NFL season for the Chargers and he has been often overshadowed by Austin Ekeler. Whenever Melvin Gordon joins the Los Angeles Chargers team, there is no way Jackson will get many chances of opening the game. It will be better to put Jackson on the third depth chart and longer the RB2 of the game.
With Melvin Gordon reporting this week, is Justin Jackson a droppable asset now?
I personally would LIKE to hold him, but will probably be irrelevant again unless 1.5 injuries happen in this backfield.
A shame considering I believe he’s a very talented back in his own right. 😥

Gordon is 100 percent healthy and fit, can easily cover up the four games he will miss and rise up in the fantasy football rankings. For all the fantasy football owners who are drafting the Chargers running backs, it is time to replace Jackson with Melvin Gordon and keep Austin Ekeler intact.
