A Memphis high school student graduated high school and literally left no stone unturned. Tupac Mosley, studying in a Tennessee high school, is a valedictorian. Mosley scored a 4.3 GPA and was awarded in excess of $3 million in college scholarships. These accolades come after Mosley lost his father in 2017. After that, the family struggled financially and was homeless. However, the ace student faced adversities in its face and emerged victorious. He did not become a victim of his tough circumstances.

Mosley said, “If it wasn’t for my friends and family, teachers and counselors who kept me going through it all, I might not be in this position today. They gave me the courage to carry on and never give up. To see my work in a quantifiable way is so rewarding. It’s a great feeling.” Mosley had more people to thank for his unprecedented success. He pays respect to his principal at Raleigh Egypt High School in Memphis. He also paid tribute to the director of For the Kingdom, a campsite and nonprofit organization where his family was allowed to stay after moving around.
Mosley’s guidance counselor, Lee-anne Cox, shared her thoughts. The counselor said, “I’ve been a guidance counselor for 11 years and he’s the first student I saw get such an overwhelming response. He is naturally intelligent and incredibly gifted but it was all down to his perseverance.” Mosley now has his own apartment and has accepted an offer from Tennessee State University to study electrical engineering. He says, “I have an amazing support system here. They’ve helped me to achieve this so I will be staying here close to them.”
