Mia Khalifa has caused a stir on the internet after she recently said what she thought about men dating women much younger than they are.
The former adult entertainment star went on Emily Ratajakowski’s podcast, “High Low,” to talk about anything and everything related to sexuality with the show’s host. The two talked about everything, from how hard it is to have a bad view of your body to how humiliating it is, to be honest about your sexual orientation or desires.
But there was one part of the podcast that has been talked about a lot on the internet. It was about couples with big age gaps, especially older men and younger women.
And we’re not just talking about a few-year difference here; they are a lot older or younger than each other. Check on mia khalifa parents too.
Khalifa, whose real name is Sarah Joe Chamoun, criticized men who go out of their way to date younger women, saying that there are elements of control in these relationships.
Any guy who goes after a girl significantly younger than them is severely lacking in their life and I mean that confidence-wise,
Khalifa told Ratajakowski.
They are falling short in so many places and that is the only place they can turn to feel like they have something on the scale of power.
The man, who was 31 at the time, said he agreed with Khalifa and went on to say:
Ultimately, it’s predatory because you’re manipulating someone who is not aware of what they’re giving you. And it’s unfair.
Take a look at the whole video down below:
The video in question was posted to Instagram, where it was met with a flood of comments from people who didn’t like what the two women said.
The thing I hate about this convo is that it disempowers the woman. Who says she’s being manipulated? How can anyone make a free choice? We’re all being manipulated,
commented one user.
So disappointed by this content. This is a personal opinion which is divulged as a truth. It’s always on a case by case basis. Older men can pursue younger women out of genuine and pure interest,
wrote another, while a third added:
Pretty disrespectful to suggest that an adult woman isn’t smart enough to understand the dynamic of dating someone older than them.
Others pointed out that most of the comments that disagreed with Khalifa’s point of view came from men, which seemed like a problem in and of itself.
The amount of man (sic) crying in the comments because their predatory behavior got called out… Very woody Allen of you,
said one user.
The star of OnlyFans has always talked a lot about what she did when she was younger, especially when she worked in the adult entertainment business. In particular, she has talked about her time in the business.
Lance Armstrong, who hosts the podcast The Forward, asked Wiz Khalifa the following questions during an interview in 2018:
I wasn’t doing it for money, I just wanted to let loose and rebel a little bit.
It didn’t validate me. Nothing like that ever does. That’s not what you should be doing to try and build your self-esteem… Looking back on it I don’t know what I was thinking.
Khalifa has talked about how manipulative the industry is in the past. In an interview with the Daily Beast, she said that she was approached when her career was at its lowest point.
I was approached at a very vulnerable point in my life,
she said.
I went back and shot a scene, and it was terrifying and temporarily validating, but afterwards I felt a little empty.
Though I still had that pit in my stomach where I wanted to chase that validation again… I think what made me go back and do it again was that the attention I was receiving, I was afraid it would go away if I didn’t do what I was asked to do.
