Who is Michael Corleone Blanco?
Michael Corleone Blanco was born on August 5, 1978, in Medellín, Colombia, to Griselda Blanco. Griselda and her late husband Dario Sepulveda, who was her former bodyguard, welcomed the child into the world shortly after their marriage.
Michael was given his name in honor of the character played by Al Pacino in The Godfather series. He had three half-brothers from his mother Griselda’s previous marriage to Carlos Trujillo: Dixon, Uber, and Osvaldo Trujillo-Blanco. In interviews, he shared that despite the significant age gap, he had a strong bond with his older siblings.
Growing up, Michael Corleone Blanco’s mother was known as the leading cocaine dealer in Miami and was suspected of being involved in the deaths of over 200 individuals. As a result, he became desensitized to acts of violence.
During an episode of HBO’s Evil Lives Here in 2018, Michael shared a memory of a visit to Disney World where their bodyguards disguised themselves in costumes. He said,
“I thought it was normal for men to walk around armed. Do you think that’s right? When you can’t even go on vacation without being surrounded by evil? But this is normal. Not only is it normal, but I remember having a great time.”
Michael remembered witnessing a disagreement between his mother and a colleague. He then heard the man yell, followed by a sudden silence.
“I had never heard anything scream like that in my life. Things kind of changed right then and there.”
Parents
After residing in Miami, Griselda and Dario decided for Dario to return to Colombia with their son. This was due to Dario’s concern that Griselda’s preoccupation with her drug business had resulted in her being an inattentive parent to their son, Michael.
In 1983, the couple split, and there are claims that Griselda was responsible for his death that same year. In contrast to the TV show’s depiction of the murder happening at Dario’s mother’s house, he was actually pulled over by people pretending to be cops while driving and was fatally shot in front of his young son, Michael, who was in the car with him.
Following his father’s demise, Michael Corleone Blanco was brought back to his mother in the United States. They settled in Irvine, California. Nevertheless, in 1985, she was taken into custody and given a 15-year prison sentence for producing, importing, and distributing cocaine.
Griselda ultimately made a bargain that resulted in her release in 2004. However, she was swiftly sent back to Colombia. Sadly, she was fatally shot while leaving a butcher shop in Medellín in 2012.
Michael Corleone Blanco’s Arrest
Following his father’s death and his mother’s imprisonment, Michael Corleone Blanco was brought up by a succession of legal guardians. According to a report by the Miami New Times, in 2011 Michael was accused of attempting to purchase five kilos from an undercover detective in Sunrise, Florida. Although he initially pleaded innocent, it is said he later spent some time under house arrest.
Wife & Kids
In 2021, Michael Corleone Blanco tied the knot with Marie Ramirez De Arellano. They have a daughter named Faith. As stated in Marie’s biography on VH1’s Cartel Crew webpage, her father had ties to the cartel, but he was able to maintain a clear division between his professional and personal affairs.
Marie’s father was continuously in and out of jail until he eventually freed himself from the cartel. Unfortunately, he also left Marie, who didn’t exactly marry someone like her father, but rather someone similar.
Marie currently runs a makeup brand called Mia Monroe, offering a variety of items ranging from shiny lip gloss to nail polish. Among her collection, a standout choice is her vibrant red lipstick, available for purchase at her shop.
