During his time on the show, he was chosen as one of People Magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful” in 1992. However, he left the role in 1993 when his mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. He then went back to Los Angeles to take care of her until she passed away in 1994.
In 1995, Easton made a comeback to acting by joining the cast of Fox’s VR.5 as Duncan, alongside Lori Singer from Fame and Anthony Head from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He then took on the lead role in Two, created by showrunner Stephen J. Cannell.
In the series, he portrayed a Seattle professor who is falsely accused of murder by his twin brother, resulting in him having to flee from the FBI to prove his innocence. Easton not only co-wrote an episode called “A.D.”, but also wrote the final episode of the series, “The Reckoning”.
In 1997, he secured a part on Damon Wayans’ 413 Hope Street alongside Jesse L. Martin and Richard Roundtree. Easton portrayed the character of Nick Carrington, a reformed drug user and counselor at a crisis center in the inner city.
Easton appeared in several episodes of Ally McBeal as Glenn in 1988. He also reprised the character in a brief appearance on the critically acclaimed show The Practice.
Additionally, he portrayed the protagonist David Hume, a detective paired with a sentient android, in the Showtime series Total Recall 2070.
Easton made a comeback to Daytime television by joining ABC’s Port Charles, a spinoff of General Hospital. This show had a supernatural twist, and Easton played a key role in developing and bringing to life the vampire character, Caleb Morley.
In 2003, Michael Easton took on the role of Detective John McBain on the soap opera One Life to Live, which he portrayed for nine years. He later returned to this role at General Hospital. On March 22, 2016, he joined the GH cast once again as Dr. Hamilton Finn.

“I’ve loved every minute that I’ve been here. I want to thank the entire cast and crew for allowing me to share their stage this past 10 years. Most importantly, I want to thank all of you for the kindness and love you’ve shown me and my family.
I won’t ever forget you. And as I walk out here for the last time, and with apologies to the great Lou Gehrig, I feel like the luckiest man on the face of the Earth.”
