The legendary boxer Mike Tyson has been sued by a woman who has accused him of ‘violently’ raping her in Albany in the 90s. The plaintiff explains that the two met at a popular nightclub back in the day and the horrific incident took place in Tyson’s limo. Moreover, the $5 million lawsuit comes right after New York state’s Adult Survivors Act was adopted. Tyson’s attorney Darrow Soll addressed the allegations. Soll says, “Tyson is willing to cooperate and we believe the investigation will reveal the allegations are patently false. We’re not hiding. No one has said anything to us except the news media.”
The plaintiff said in the court documents, “I got in Tyson’s limousine to pick up my friend from her house. I told him no several times and asked him to stop, but he continued to attack me. He then pulled my pants off and violently raped me.” She further explains that she continues to suffer from physical, psychological, and emotional injury to this day. The plaintiff says she still deals with the feeling of worthlessness, shame, embarrassment, anger, and perpetual sadness. This complaint coincides with the allegations made by Desiree Washington. The 18-year-old beauty pageant also accused Tyson of raping her in Indianapolis in the same time frame.

The plaintiff continues, “I have experienced extreme emotional suffering including but not limited to nightmares, panic attacks, and flashbacks.” Sgt. Frank Gonzales of the San Bernadino County Sheriff’s department weighed in on the case. He said, “It’s a serious allegation. I cannot comment on her comments or statements that she made.” The police are still hoping for Tyson to come forward and answer the questions Gonzales says, “It’s not scheduled, but you know obviously in the future, the near future, we hope that we could gain a comment from Mr. Tyson. We will hope that Mr. Tyson, along with his attorney, would cooperate with the investigation.”
The woman says, “I have developed lifelong problems, including but not limited to issues with sex, and with being touched as a result of the rape. I have been unable to maintain and/or develop healthy relationships with men or anyone in general. I have experienced extreme emotional suffering including but not limited to nightmares, panic attacks, and flashbacks.” The victim’s attorney Darren Seilback confirmed that the allegations made are “highly credible”. Seilback states that his office conducted a thorough investigation. Tyson’s ex-wife Robin Givens claimed in their divorce papers that their relationship was full of “unprovoked rages of violence and destruction.”

She writes, “Mike could be very sweet and gentle when he was feeling it, and not very sweet or gentle when he wasn’t. He once tried to grab my breast, and when I pushed him away, he got angry and threw my light meter in the snow. He had a somewhat spoiled side and, being the champ, grew accustomed to getting his way.” Defending himself, Tyson says that the relationship between them was consensual.
