Mindhunter Season 2 has been officially renewed by Netflix and it is going to be released sometime in this year. The first season of Mindhunter was a huge success and it is ready to make a great comeback in 2019.
What is Mindhunter about?
Mindhunter is a detective drama series which focuses on the FBI’s criminal profiling programme back in the 1970s. The two protagonists of Mindhunter were Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McClanny). They were agents of the Behavioural Sciences department of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). They try to grasp the patterns of behavior by conducting a series of interviews with serial killers.
When will Mindhunter Season 2 be released on Netflix?
Mindhunter Season 2 was renewed even before the first season had aired. Till now no official date has been confirmed. Given that the shooting had started in May 2018, it should release in the first quarter of 2019.
Mindhunters Season 2 Plot
Netflix has kept information about Mindhunters Season 2 under wraps. They have not released any confirmed plot or cast for the upcoming season. But, a few things have leaked out.
In 2017, in an interview with Billboard, David Fincher revealed that Mindhunters season 2 will deal with a number of murders in Atlanta from 1979-81. The events saw the murder of 28 African-American adults, teens and children. And Wayne Williams was found guilty for two of the murders.
Mindhunters Season 1 Ending
Mindhunters Season 1 ending saw Ford’s methods being questioned by Bill, Wendy and their boss. Because, Ford was unguarded around the subjects. In the last episode, he is hugged by serial killer Ed Kemper. After the hug, Ford had a serious panic attack because he realised how risky the situation had become.
So, Mindhunters Season 2 will probably revolve around the fall out and see Ford handle this whole situation more practically.
Mindhunters Season 2 Cast
We know that Torv, Groff, and McClanny will return for Mindhunters Season 2. But, it is still unknown whether Britton will play Kemper once again. Also, there have been reports that Damon Herriman has been cast as Charles Manson for Mindhunters season 2.
But, he is also getting ready to play the notorious killer in ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’. This is going to be Quentin Tarantino’s next project.
