Mindhunter Season 3 release date is expected by fans of the crime drama but things are not looking bright. The last season of Mindhunter released around six months ago and Netflix has not renewed the next installment. The streaming giant is known to leave popular series in between without any sort of conclusion and fans are worrying that the same could happen with Mindhunter.

While Netflix has not canceled the third season of Mindhunter, they have terminated the contracts of cast members which indicates the same. But does that Mindhunter Season 3 is canceled or there is more to cutting out the contract of the actors.
Netflix has Terminated the Contracts for Lead Cast Members
Mindhunter Season 3 main cast members, Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, and Anna Torv have been scrapped of their contracts by Netflix. All the main actors from the crime thriller series have been released of their respective contracts and they are free to act in other movies or TV series.
But at the same time, the actors have assured fans that they are open to returning for another season of Mindhunter in the future. Groff and McCallany have said that they would love to return for Mindhunter Season 3 as there are so many more stories to tell.
Mindhunter Season 3 Return Possible
Mindhunter Season 3 has neither been renewed nor canceled, as it is simply just put on hold because the main showrunner and executive producer, David Fincher will be busy with other projects in 2020. Fincher is handling the second season of “Love, Death and Robots” along with a movie titled “Mank” for Netflix and hence he doesn’t have any time for “Mindhunter” Season 3 production.
It is the main reason why the cast members were freed from their contracts as it won’t be fair to keep them restricted while Fincher works on new things. Netflix may renew Mindhunter Season 3 in the future as David Fincher and other cast members are open to revisiting the show.
