MLB trade deadlines are approaching fast, and the teams and the players involved have to make a decision soon. It is only around 7 more days when the July 31 deadline ends, and still, none of the high profile deals are made. Most of the MLB teams are thinking for the playoffs and doesn’t want to lose any chances at an early stage. Here are the possible free agency deals for Will Smith, Jake Diekman, Eric Sogard, Hunter Pence and Mike Minor.

Will Smith
Will Smith is one of the best relievers in MLB, and the San Francisco Giants know it very well. They won’t quickly agree for trade but doesn’t have many options considering players like Madison Bumgarner are getting higher salary offers. The Minnesota Twins are planning to sign a deal with Smith and pair him up with Taylor Rogers. The Twins believe that they can easily defeat the team of Cleveland in the Central line and play against Yankees and Astros in October playoffs.

Jake Diekman
The Houston Astros are looking for a left-handed reliever and already tried names such as Framber Valdez, Reymin Guduan, and Cionel Perez. Jake Diekman has proved his worth and can be a great addition to the Astros team. In the last MLB season, he had a 5.2 per nine walk rate and 13.4 per nine strikeout rate. The Astros can even improve it and hope for a much better future season.

Eric Sogard
Eric Sogard from the Toronto Blue Jays has been linked with the team of Chicago Cubs for a long time. He is a great hitter with a score of .305/.369/.491 in the last season. Chicago could offer Sogard a huge contract very soon in an official way. Addison Russell and Daniel Descalso are already in the Cubs and the addition of Sogard will take it even higher.
Marcus Stroman and Eric Sogard aren’t the only Blue Jays that are drawing interest ahead of the MLB trade deadline.

Hunter Pence
Hunter Pence is now on the way to recover fully from his groin strain injury and make a strong comeback. He had a score of .290/.349/.581 for the few games he played in the last season. The Toronto Blue Rays are looking for a right-handed bat and maybe sign Pence for a deal. The Yankees and the Cleveland teams are also interested in having Pence.

Mike Minor
The team of Texas Rangers might trade out Mike Minor as he doesn’t fit in their new roster anymore. The Yankees need some star pitchers and if they can’t get Madison Bumgarner, they would have to settle out for Minor. If not as their main pitcher, Minor could easily replace CC Sabathia in the Yankees team.
