MLB trade deadline finally ended on Wednesday, and most of the high profile deals were finalized. As there are no August waiver trades in this year, it was the last chance to get new players. While some players and team got good deals of their choice, others had to go empty-handed.
The Yankees and the Braves were could not get a single decent player, and the deadline ended. Here are the details of deals for Zack Grienke, Yasiel Puig, Mets and Indians and reasons why they were the free agency winners.
Zack Grienke
Houston Astros got Zack Grienke, and the deal is kind of win-win for both of them. The team of Astros has got a great player in the form of Grienke to add in their rotation, and at the same time, he has also gotten a great deal. Astros have much better chances to win the world series as compared to the Diamondbacks or Dodgers. Grienke gets to pitch in the next playoffs and stays with a loaded team till the year 2021, and it is everything he wanted.

Yasiel Puig
Yasiel Puig is one of the most exciting players ever since he started his MLB career. Even though he only played with the Cincinnati Reds for just 4 months, he has kind of become a legend in there. Puig was traded to the Cleveland Indians, and now he has much better shot at batting in the playoffs. The Indians are a well organized where average players turn into MLB stars and Puig will be happy to play in there.
Yasiel Puig is headed to Cleveland as part of the deal for Trevor Bauer, sources tell ESPN.

New York Mets
New York Mets are kind of the biggest winners of the MLB free agency 2019 by a huge margin. Marcus Stroman, who has an ERA less than 3.00 from the Blue Jays, was acquired at a very low price. Noah Syndergaard and Zack Wheeler were also retained, and it has made the Mets as one of the strongest pitching bullpens. The Mets got everything it wanted without spending much and now have a chance at the next wild card spot.
Source: the Mets did not make any last-minute deadline deals. Noah Syndergaard stays. Zack Wheeler stays. Jacob deGrom, Marcus Stroman and Steven Matz are here.
The Mets will try to make a run at this thing.

Cleveland Indians
Cleveland Indians are at the top of AL scoreboard and got 5 new players by just trading away a single big name from their team. Trevor Bauer was traded out from the Indians, but they acquired Yasiel Puig in the same three-team exchange deal. Franmil Reyes, Logan Allen, Victor Nova, and Scott Moss are the players that the Indians acquired as the MLB trade deadline closed.
