Moana Live Action: All you need to know!
The main character Moana, a daring adolescent and the chief’s daughter, embarks on a journey after being selected by the ocean to save her people. She meets Maui there, a once-powerful demigod who helps her discover her identity and purpose in the universe as she begins her journey to become a master way-finder.
Disney has been successful in producing some excellent live-action for its films. The Little Mermaid, which was just released, received favorable reviews from the audience.
Dwayne Johnson revealed the project earlier this year during Disney’s 2023 Annual Meeting of Shareholders Webcast, along with his return for the role, this time live.
Dwayne Johnson voiced Maui in the Moana animated film, released in 2016. Dwayne has confirmed most of the original cast is set to release in the live-action. However, the animated film’s main character’s voice actress, Auli’i Cravalho will not reprise the role of Moana, instead, she will be serving as the executive producer.

Moana Live Action: Release Date
The release date for Moana Live Action, announced by Dwayne Johnson and Walt Disney Productions, is on 27th June 2025. The release date for Moana Live Action earlier was set on July 2, 2025. However, the date has been pushed back to June 27th, 2025.
The actor has stated that the movie is currently in production and is still in its early stages. Nothing else about the film, including whether it will be distributed in cinemas or on OTT platforms, has been announced as of yet.
