After their Netflix documentary, a poll on Sunday found that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should lose their titles and Harry should be taken out of the line of succession.
According to the survey, 44% of people think that they should lose their titles, while only 19% disagree.
About the same number, 42%, think Harry should be taken out of the line of succession, while 23% disagree.
Almost a third, 28%, think they shouldn’t be allowed to go to the coronation of King Charles III, while 31% disagree.
The poll by findoutnow also shows how different people of different ages have very different ideas.
51 percent of people over the age of 65 think the Sussexes should lose their titles, but only 16 percent of people between the ages of 25 and 34 agree.
Four out of ten voters who watched the show said it made them like Harry and Meghan more, while 26% said it made them like them less.
A different Deltapoll poll also disagrees with the couple’s claim that the media has been unfair to them.
51 percent of people say they have been treated fairly, while 31 percent say they have been treated unfairly.
This poll also found that nearly half of people (49%) think the monarchy is good for Britain, that nearly two-thirds (65%) think it should stay a monarchy, and that more than half (55%) think Britain will still have a monarchy in 50 years.
The person who started findoutnow, Chris Holbrook, said:
More than two million people in the UK watched the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s TV series. So it is a ratings hit for Netflix. It is less clear that it has changed people’s perceptions of the couple or the Royal Family. If anything, each side is becoming more entrenched. If you already liked Harry and Meghan over the Royal Family, you still do, only a bit more so. If you are inclined to side with the traditional Royal Family, this series makes you feel even more strongly that way.
Findoutnow.co.uk polled 2,065 British adults who were chosen to be representative of the whole country on Friday, December 9. On their website, you can read the whole report.
Between October 8 and 10, 2022, Deltapoll talked to 663 British adults online. The data has been adjusted so that they are a good representation of all British adults as a whole.
