The Damian Lillard trade has been the talk of the town since he requested a trade with the Miami Heat as soon as the trade window opened. The star made it clear to the Blazers that he does not want to continue and would like to move out. But will the point guard show up to the Blazers’ training camp if things don’t go the way he wants?
The Blazers are not happy with what the Heats are offering for Damian; they are listening to offers from other teams as well. They don’t seem interested in fulfilling the players’ demands. Here are four ways Damian Lillard can force his way out of Portland.
Damian Lillard can use social media
Damian has made tweets, but he can do a lot more with his social media handles. Players have done it in the past to let teams and people know what they feel about actually saying that. Posting lyrics and pictures relevant to the situation or following and unfollowing particular handles is enough to send a message. It looks like Damian can’t have it his way. Social media might come in handy if he wants to do it calmly.

Damian Lillard can give a sit-down interview
Jimmy Butler did an interview with ESPN to put pressure on the Wolves when he wanted to move out, Damian can do the same as well. Damian’s behavior has been questioned as well in this saga, an interview which clearly describes what his point of view might turn the tide towards him.
Damian can say he’ll not play if not traded
Although Damian has said, he might not attend the training camp if traded to any other team. But his professionalism won’t let people believe that he would actually miss games. A statement hinting towards not being available for games or sitting out might build up the pressure on the Blazers.

Damian can try not showing up to training camp
As Damian has already said, he won’t show up if not traded. He can stick to that and actually pull off the stunt and shock the management. This would send a message to the team and to other players as well that they might face the same scenario someday.
Does Lillard want to make a mess, Or he wants to do it the calm way? We’ll keep you updated.
