Andrew Wiggins is a great player who fits well on the Golden State Warriors roster and helps them in winning the games. He was the 2nd best player on the Warriors’ roster in the NBA 2022-23 Season.
Wiggins fits well and plays seemingly around the best players of the league, including Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Kevon Looney, Stephen Curry, and more.
However, the current scenario suggests a potential trade of Wiggins due to his poor performance in the last season. Could the Warriors pursue Wiggins’ trade?
Could the Warriors Avoid Trading Andrew Wiggins?
An NBA journalist from The Athletic has said that the Golden State Warriors might not trade Andrew Wiggins as the veteran took a salary cut to stay with the organization. The Warriors are looking forward to developing Wiggins alongside Chris Paul.
Wiggins himself accepted the pay cut with the Warriors. He is currently taking $2.2 million less on his annual pay. The Warriors signed Andrew because of his excellent performance in the Finals. They signed him with a new contract worth $109 million.
Wiggins is currently taking a yearly salary of $10 million as he wants to continue playing for the Warriors.
The Warriors have more options the better Kuminga plays, but I don't think they want to trade Wiggins after he took a discount deal last October just to remain with them.
Still, all things are options. https://t.co/ApptlCz3lo

The Warriors want to be the serious contenders for the upcoming title. Hence, they are testing new strategies. Hence, they have acquired Chris Paul, who will help Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga on the roster. Paul could also make an impact on Andrew Wiggins.
Andrew Wiggins’ Inconsistency is a Cause for Concern for the Warriors
While Wiggins is one of the best players in the league. He is not consistent and definitely not a potential superstar due to his inconsistent gameplay. He often struggles to perform during the crucial moments of a game, which is a matter of concern for the Golden State.
However, in the last year, Andrew Wiggins has significantly improved his performance. He was the all-star player in 2022. He also led the league with his high goal percentage and 3-point shots.
Andrew Wiggins hasn’t closed two of the first three games: “The coaches make a decision that’s best. We won the game. As long as we keep winning, I’m fine. I gotta give them a reason not to take me out. Rebound more. I can do more.”https://t.co/fwiYheqGvj

Even though Wiggins is inconsistent, he can definitely improve when placed alongside superstar players like Stephen Curry and the roster.
