There are many players in the NBA league who are more prone to injuries than others. Due to frequent injuries, the NBA teams have to bear a hefty loss. The same is the case with the Boston Celtics.
Celtics’ Robert Williams III faces frequent injuries, due to which they might be looking for his replacement. Could the Celtics acquire Jarrett Allen from the Cleveland Cavaliers as his replacement?
The Jarrett Allen Trade Proposal
- The Cleveland Cavaliers will receive the forward center Al Horford, the guard Payton Pritchard, the forward Sam Hauser, and the 2025 First-Round Pick (Boston Celtics).
- In exchange, the Boston Celtics will receive the center Jarrett Allen.
The NBA players have to push to their training to the extreme limits, which causes injuries. Not only do young players go through a lot of injuries, but even some old and star players are more prone to injuries.
The Celtics have had a huge loss due to player injuries, which is why they are considering trading their Robert Williams III for Jarrett Allen.
Why Do the Boston Celtics Want to Acquire Jarrett Allen?
The Celtics could pair Allen with Kristaps Porzingis at the front court. They can cover every position on the court if they add Allen to their roster since they already have Derrick White at position 1, Jaylen Brown at 2, and Jayson Tatum at 3.
The Celtics could use Allen as a rim protector and Porzingis as a shot blocker at the weaker part. However, we are not sure if they will trade Williams III and not acquire Allen. If Williams’ health is fine, then they may not trade him to the Cavaliers.
Why Do the Cleveland Cavaliers Want to Trade Jarrett Allen?
The Cleveland Cavaliers have a poor fit on the court. However, this trade deal might fix the poor fitting as they could place Allen in the 5th position.

But the Cavaliers need to move Evan Mobley from the 5th position and let him play alongside Horford or use him as a reserve player. The Cavaliers have to do their own maths to fix their roster.
