An NBA writer has proposed a trade deal between the Milwaukee Bucks and San Antonio Spurs involving Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Josh Cornelissen from Fansided has proposed the deal in which the Spurs will acquire Antetokounmpo from the Bucks. Here is the trade proposal!
The Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade Proposal
- The San Antonio Spurs will receive Giannis Antetokounmpo and Pat Connaughton.
- The Milwaukee Bucks will receive Keldon Johnson, Jeremy Sochan, Malaki Branham, Reggie Bullock, Doug McDermott, and 3 first-round draft picks.
It is very much possible that Antetokounmpo might request his trade from the current team or may even become a free agent in 2025 summer by denying to be in the 2025-26 player option, as told by Sean Deveney from Heavy Sports.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Drops Bombshell: No Bucks Contract Extension this Year – What’s Next for the 2-Time MVP?
Giannis Antetokounmpo has already expressed his desire, in an interview with The New York Times’ Tania Ganguli, that will not sign a contract extension with the Milwaukee Bucks this year.
Antetokounmpo will be eligible for a contract extension in September 2023.
The 2 time MVP said to Tania in the interview:
“The real question’s not going to be this year — numbers-wise it doesn’t make sense.”
“But next year, next summer it would make more sense for both parties. Even then, I don’t know.”
Antetokounmpo further added:
“I would not be the best version of myself if I don’t know that everybody’s on the same page, everybody’s going for a championship, everybody’s going to sacrifice time away from their family like I do. And if I don’t feel that, I’m not signing.”
Giannis Antetokounmpo Career, Stats, and Next Destination!
The Milwaukee Bucks star player signed a 5-year contract with them worth $228.2 million in December 2020. He is also a potential Hall of Famer. And he is expected to make around $45.6 million in the upcoming NBA Season.
The 2 time MVP wants to win at least one title in his career, and he doesn’t think that Bucks are the potential contender for the 2023-24 NBA Season.

While the Bucks won the title in 2021, they lost in the second round against the Boston Celtics in a total of 7 games. Further, they lost against the Miami Heat in the first round of the 2023 playoffs in a total of 5 games.
Antetokounmpo told Tania:
“This is my team, and it’s going to forever be my team.”
“I don’t forget people that were there for me and allowed me to be great and to showcase who I am to the world and gave me the platform. But we have to win another one. But at the end of the day, being a winner, it’s over that goal. Winning a championship comes first. I don’t want to be 20 years on the same team and don’t win another championship.”
