NBA free agency has started and will end on Thursday. Players move to their desired teams, leaving their fans heartbroken, and to the fan’s delight, a few move to their teams. It is, for sure, an exciting and anxious time for fans and teams.
NBA free agency is yet to end, but there are teams who have taken a bullet already. Let’s look at the 3 biggest losers of NBA free agency 2023!
What is NBA free agency?
NBA free agency means that a player who is no longer under a contract can look for new teams, and a team can negotiate with a player who’s no longer under contract.
The free agency starts at 6 PM ET on June 30 and goes on until July 6, but the players cannot be signed officially before 12:01 PM ET on July 6. The teams are also allowed to make trades in this time frame.
Biggest losers of NBA free agency in this offseason
Portland Trail Blazers
Portland’s star Damian Lillard requested for a trade as soon as the free agency started; he also made it clear that he wants his destination to be Miami Heat. They are a loser this offseason because since they signed a $160M deal with Jerami Grant, they’ll not be able to offer Damian enough, which could have been a way to make him stay.
Also, the Blazers would like to get as much as they can in return for Damian, but Miami can’t offer that much, and if they fail to keep Lillard, they’ll have to bear huge losses.

Chicago Bulls
The Bulls signed some good players in 2021 and were at their best before Lonzo Ball got injured. Injuries have been their concern, and they’d like to make up for it. Multiple reports have claimed that Lonzo might never step on the NBA court again, and it would leave the Bulls in jeopardy if that happens.
Zach LaVine is also looking for a trade as the Bulls haven’t performed well. If he leaves, they would like to get good enough returns for the two-time All-Star.

Golden State Warriors
The Warriors struggled last season and finished as the number 6 seed. Earlier, they chose Green between him and Jordan Poole. In Poole’s return, they got Chris Paul.
Paul has an expensive contract, and that does not let them fix their rim protection, which was their huge weak point last season. They are the biggest losers this offseason without doing disastrous business because they have done nothing to fix the older problems yet.
Houston Rockets
Houston Rockets are also one of the biggest losers, as the VanVleet and Brooks signing has left them in a complex mess.
